Why do I feel anxious?

In today’s world, there is so much pressure.

External resources (work, school, family, friends), media (where comparison can run rampant), and there is an overload of information on every topic.

This can lead to feeling overwhelmed and often developing a habit of comparison or feeling anxious about not doing enough.

The family environment you grow up in, can also influence feeling anxious.

People who experience anxiety, often have at least one caregiver/parent is who  quite anxious.

You learn about yourself, your capacities, and how much you can trust other people from the people who raise you.

Anxiety is the most common reason people seek therapy

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health diagnosis across Canada and the United States.

Families do the best they can to raise wonderful human beings, however sometimes a parent’s own anxiety can negatively impact their child’s mental health trajectory.

Academics include high stress environments of papers, exams, next level education and worries about having enough experience and education to land the dream job.

Workplaces are strained and stretching resources across few employees. With more work to do and fewer people to do it, stress in the workplace is high.

It is no wonder anxiety is so common.
